Publisher Note
Thomas Müllenbach’s art practice examines the various facets of everyday life. This includes both drawings and paintings of interiors like lamps, windows, sofas, beds, chairs, etc., as well as of human body fragments and entanglements.
Postures / Positions juxtaposes drawings of two human behaviors: praying men in more or less fervent poses of different religions are confronted with prostitues in various positions, or rather presented in obtrusive regular alternating sequences.
The current rise of religion is combined with an omnipresent sexualization, the pair forms an unholy alliance. The publication assembles two times 40 drawings in graphite and shows them in their original size.
