Publisher Note
A member of an eccentric elite of Turin's artistic and cultural figures, a master of the tastes of a wealthy social class, a "passionate skier with the perfect aesthetic of breathtaking curves," as well as a skilled photographer and daring experimenter in multiple fields, Carlo Mollino was interested not only in architecture but also in aviation, design, and fashion. His explorations also included cinema, set design, literature, and, above all, the mountains. From the 1930s onward, the mountains became a passion that led him—in addition to conceiving bold and original architectural projects—to publish the book "Introduction to Downhill Skiing" in 1950.
