Inspired by the beauty of nature, vacant landscapes and the work of Buckminster Fuller, the photographer has created a series of double exposure photographs that show a group of utopian settings with compounds that will preserve these spaces for generations to come.

Tagtäglich werden wir in den Medien mit der Umweltschutzproblematik (Klimaerwärmung, Waldsterben, Verlust der Artenvielfalt) konfrontiert. Die Frage, die sich stellt, ist, wie kann die Welt in ihrem Ist-Zustand erhalten, konserviert werden. Wie lange werden wir die Dinge, die verschwinden, vermissen? Was ist es wert, bewahrt zu werden? Was tritt an seine Stelle? In der Serie Landschaftspräparate überzieht Alex Kern, ihm persönlich besonders eindrucksvoll erscheinende Landschaften mit riesigen Glaskuppeln, um sie für nachfolgende Generationen zu konservieren.
