Growing out of an expansive traveling exhibition that features works drawn from throughout Steinbach's long career, as well as archival materials and major new site-specific installations, Haim Steinbach. Hundreds of full-color illustrations document the retrospective exhibitions, with photographs, models and recreations from his past works, along with photography of the major new site-specific installations that appeared at each institution. New scholarly essays by writers Johanna Burton, Germano Celant, Timothy Morton, and Jenny Jaskey take this opportunity to explore the evolution of Steinbach's practice and his investigations into what constitutes an art object and how they are displayed.
