Publisher Note
This catalogue was compiled on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of my books at Boekhandel De Slegte, opening in May 2024.
Inside you’ll find 95 projects created over nearly a decade. This substantial amount is due to a lack of selection. I’ve chosen to not only include official editions but also student projects, experiments, prototypes, personal gifts, and prints. Through this approach, I’m hoping to give an insight in the significant role bookmaking has played both as an artistic practice and as a personal tool for navigating everyday existence.
Even though I’ve tried to be conclusive, numerous publications didn’t make it into the catalogue - too personal, repetitive, gifted, lost, or forgotten.
All projects were created by Maya Strobbe and published by RAMSDAM BOOKS, unless stated otherwise.
