Notes
The conceit of the book is that one must scratch the pages in order to see the images.
Publisher Note
‘I've made a book printed entirely on silver paper, covered in the material used for scratch-off tickets. If you choose to scratch, images of corpses cut into pieces appear. It's up to you to decide whether or not to discover these atrocities. To keep the beautiful silver book with no images, or the horrifying collection of tortures. The onus is on the viewer. I was interested in working on desire and refusal. I've never wanted to show any photographs of corpses for moral reasons. If I accept these images in a newspaper, I find it more difficult to see them exhibited in a gallery. The danger is in embellishing the horror, even if it means denouncing it.
