At a late stage of her career, painter Agnes Martin evokes her creative process as well as her swimming pool. Composed of an assemblage of biographical facts and interviews, the text fits in like a hermit crab in the layout of Ed Ruscha's Nine swimming pools. The unusual structure of his book is unusual – 10 photos and 48 blank pages – echoes a meditative practice, a deprived composition as well as the dilution of Agnes Martin's colours.
