On equipment and design
This book contains the know-how of the most competent bookbinding professionals, who provided us with a wealth of information and wonderful blind patterns throughout the entire process.

Since the first edition in 2016, sustainability has become a central focus in the production of print objects. The third edition of the book reflects this: The paper comes from socially, economically, and ecologically sustainably managed forests. Both the Gugler printing company and the contents paper are "Cradle to Cradle" certified. Literally translated, this means "from cradle to cradle": sustainable action by all involved in the spirit of the circular economy.

Franziska Morlok and Miriam Waszelewski not only wrote the book, but also designed it superbly. And we owe Matthias Weingärtner the wonderful photos of the blind covers for all the binding techniques. Yes, we actually had a blind cover made for each binding technique presented, so that we could present the book and the bookbinding technique in a comparable way without any distracting content. Thus, the reference book for designers also became a bookbinding bible for bibliophiles.
