Publisher Note
Due to its positioning at the Güterbahnhof Bremen, the "WarteStelle" could be experienced by different user groups: the Güterbahnhof is a place of vital artistic production in Bremen that attracts an art-interested public. However, the car park of the area in front of it is also used by other groups. At this non-place of public space, the "WarteStelle" subtly intruded into everyday life, confronting with its presence and inviting participation. It was open to all, free to be used by anyone waiting.
Just as in the artistic project "WarteStelle," which has been running for several years, Kornelia Hoffmann draws attention to the everyday phenomenon of waiting in her artist's book with the same title. She creates a place of awareness where this otherwise incidental experience, which constitutes an important part of the reality of our lives, becomes visible and tangible as an activity.
