oiled pages to create transparency
Publisher Note
From paper format to the book, that’s how Alexander Wagner’s intention can be described. The starting point of his work is seven abstract paper drawings which have been scanned, scaled and divided into 112 pages. Wagner has oiled the pages, a technique used in silkscreen printing to create a transparency of the paper. Thereby an interplay takes place between the pages and their geometrical forms. Page by page the surface changes and generates a new drawing: From paper format to the book – and vice versa.
