The "Ruhr Area Photographs" unites classics and previously unpublished photographs of one of the most important photographers of New Objectivity, who has become a stylist for photography in the Ruhr Area. The catalogue shows the versatile work of Renger-Patzsch, which was created in the Ruhr area. With about 70 photographs, his largest free project, the "Ruhr Area Landscapes" from 1927 to 1935, is presented. The photographs stand for the discovery of the industrial landscape as an artistic motif? r. They are supplemented by 130 and largely unknown commissioned photographs from the 1920s to the 1960s. They range from architectural and portrait images to object and industrial photographs. Both the free and applied photographic works are characterized by their high craftsmanship and aesthetic quality. 00 Exhibition: Ruhr Museum Essen, Germany
