Publisher Note

“With my conceptual approach I focus on the invisible, emotional, psychological, in order to approach real circumstances. The concept as an alignment of my sensors, as a filter between me and the world, as a framework of thinking, as a dissecting instrument. In a way, my works are very precise, clear and demanding. In another way, they are a fragmentary structure that first emerges in my head and then, in the form of pictures and installations, asks questions, irritates, gets in the way. My mostly staged and constructed visual worlds revolve around themes such as security, control, isolation and latent emotional states.

My artistic research currently focuses on the search for meaning, the desire for expansion of consciousness and spirituality as tendencies of a western reality of life. I am fascinated by the visualization of immediate experiences of states by means of spontaneous staging of people and things. Combined with aspects of silence and timelessness, my pictures as visual constructions explore the invisible border area between inner and outer world. They tell of perception and experience at the border between self and world.” – Sabine Schründer
