Baad is a meta-crime fiction made up of a text written in english by Kyle Proehl and a series of illustrations and references designed by Gabriel Gee. The text is structured in eleven sections composed of nine paragraphs, each paragraph containing exactly ninety-nine words. each section is accompanied by an illustration, whose nine components respond to a phrase selected from each of the section's paragraphs. The illustrations refer to cover of crime and detective novels, extracts of films and popular music, echoing the North American and Californian setting of the narrative.
