Erik Steinbrecher turns liquorice sweets into sticky, misshapen sculptures for his work, CANDY MAN. By boiling and soaking in water, the deformed liquorice is then placed on bottle caps and other similar objects found among rubbish to act as pedestals. The result presents these sculptures from an elevated perspective, then printed and rewrapped in its plastic casing to raise questions of representation.
Erik Steinbrecher verwandelt Lakritzbonbons in klebrige, verformte Skulpturen für sein Buch CANDY MAN. Durch Kochen und Einweichen in Wasser wird das deformierte Lakritzholz dann auf Flaschenverschlüsse und andere ähnliche Objekte platziert, die sich im Müll befinden, um als Sockel zu dienen. Das Buch präsentiert diese Skulpturen aus einer erhöhten Perspektive, dann gedruckt und umhüllt in seiner Kunststoffhülle, um Fragen der Darstellung zu erheben.
