Publisher Note

In Dias (Days) Pia Riverola's chronicles fleeting moments she encountered during her travels over the past years. By using motion, blur and dappled light she creates an evocative imagery: a snapshot of Mount Fuji glimpsed from a speeding Japanese bullet train, a Mediterranean breeze lifting a Spanish tablecloth, or Italian drizzle softly falling beneath an umbrella in a Roman garden.

“The biggest challenge is finding authenticity in a digital and hyper-curated world. With the social media dictating trends and encouraging repeated shots, it's easy to fall into popular patterns rather than seeking something meaningful. Capturing unique, genuine, unexpected, and personal moments means resisting the temptation to create for approval and instead focusing on your own vision.
Another huge challenge is truly slowing down and immersing yourself in the experience of the place, which is difficult when travel is so accessible and fast-paced. Staying present, observing attentively, and letting moments emerge naturally is difficult but essential to creating images with depth and sincerity.”
