Ceramics, clay, and color come together in Dogs — a new zine featuring photographs by Ralph Roelse. The zine captures Simon Schrikker’s latest ceramic works: a maniac series of dog sculptures, bursting with bright colors and raw yet stylish forms that echo the beloved four-legged friend.
Schrikker’s journey began in his grandfather’s studio in Laren, surrounded by clay and chisels, even as he himself strayed into the streets and graffiti. Today, his work moves restlessly along the edge of figuration and material, where paint spills like lava and animals — dogs, sharks, octopuses — return as recurring symbols.
Dogs is both a visual archive and a celebration: an ode to making, to transformation, and to the energy of form given life.
