Publisher Note
Fascism and Apocalyptic is a photobook in magazine format that explores the correlation between the 1918 flu and the rise of fascism in Germany. This work arises after investigating the economic, social and ideological effects of the 1918 flu, which a hundred years ago caused fifty million deaths at the end of the First World War.
These considerations are intertwined narratively with the symbols of the Apocalypse of Saint John or Book of Revelations, in a special German edition of 1920. The analogies between the 1918 influenza and the current COVID-19 pandemic are evident and alert us resounding the apocalyptic echoes, in its most catastrophic sense, but also revealing, of the dangerous speech of the extreme right rising around the world.
