Publisher Note
Officina Pasolini is the catalogue of the 2015/2016 exhibition at MAMbo, Bologna on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Officina Pasolini takes the form of Pasolini's works: a sequence of notes, montages of scenes, concatenations of fragments. The most significant nuclei of Pasolini's world are included, from his education in Bologna to the two testamentary works, the novel "Petrolio" and the film "Salò". This is an investigation that goes through these nuclei, reads them, examines them and connects them, collecting motifs that return, such as the figure of the mother, Greek tragedy, visions of other worlds, of archaic peoples, the presence of the sacred, the suburbs, the bourgeois world, neo-capitalist power.
As in an artisan workshop, one can follow the traces of the architectural and figurative world loved by Pasolini.
