Irena Stehli have photographed Czech shop-windows for more than 17 years (between 1978 and 1996). In this way she created a unique document reflecting the changes of Czech society and its mentality, from the dun aesthetics of normalization, often accompanied by unintentional absurdity, revolutionary days after the 17th November 1989, to the coming of new forms of advertising, often very cheesy. The photographs bear no names, they differ only in date of their creation.
