Work Description

Created during lockdown in London in 2020, the rainbow become an important symbol in the UK. Many drawings of rainbows could be seen in the streets and drawn on people's windows. It was also applied to hospital signage to support the NHS hospital staff and is still visible in some places. The rainbow slowly became an important part of my works including the iteration in this book which is the companion of Rainbow 1. The book is an ode to colour and form. Through the flicking of quarter circles cut out in japanese paper with strong and unique pigments, the shape of a rainbow is revealed in the centre spread. This edition includes pastel and neon hues. The book is a tactile and meditative experience. It can take a sculptural form in its display.
