Work Description
A kind of medieval bestiary, the images take on a new meaning through juxtaposition. The book collects griffins and chimeras, zoomorphic calligrams from the Arab tradition but also from Jewish and Hindu culture. In these pages, the Egyptian god who invented signs meets the Aztec god of writing. The title is a tribute to the type specimen catalogs published by the first typographers.
