Publisher Note

Albert Coers develops a publication on the project Street Names Signs, which translates Munich's street names into sign language image words, in collaboration with suolocco design.
The basis is a photograph of a Falk city map of Munich, which Coers acquired in 1994. By photographing the map laid out on the studio floor, shadow edges are created that overlap with the existing folds and creases. Texts by Albert Coers on the project and images of the street names translated into sign language are placed on this map, which are linked to the city map by numbered arrows. A street index is included, which can be used to find out the image words, their meaning and their locations. The inside is designed as an A1-format poster (59,4×82 cm).
