Ulysses or the Constellations: In the footsteps of Ulysses, a contemporary photographic epic in the Mediterranean.
For several years, the photographer Franck Pourcel has travelled in the footsteps of Ulysses; an epic journey that has led him to more than fifteen Mediterranean countries (Albania, Algeria, Bosnia, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Turkey, etc.).
He tells thirteen photographic stories, symbolized by three imaginary constellations, which question this moving territory crossed with the challenges of our world. It thus develops new, more humane, sensitive and personal geographies.
our world run through.
On the map, he has made subjective lines that follow the stages of his journey and form imaginary constellations guiding him above a confused and moving territory. He thus explores a buried memory, Mediterranean landscapes that he captures in their aspects of immutability, modernity or upheaval.
With this work, commented by Gilles Mora, Franck Pourcel develops new geographies, more human and more personal.
