“Vackra Anna is a work based on interviews made in summer 2012 with people living in my childhood village, Långshyttan, during the 1970’s.I asked people of different ages and different social classes about their memories of a certain woman called Vackra Anna (Beautiful Anna). Everyone living in Långshyttan at this time knew her. I was curious about how a group of individuals create a common image of a person.
The stories seem to be rather similar at first, but they all differ in details. No one is sure about the facts. Each person was asked to draw a map of where about they thought Vackra Anna used to live at the time. None of the maps show the same place.”
