Notes

Box with 34 cards, silkscreen print on cardboard

Publisher Note

This multiple by the artist duo Agatha Zobrist and Theres Waeckerlin was released on the occasion of their exhibition at the Galerie im Trudelhaus in Baden in 1994. 34 cards were packed in the box. Printed on it are linear, rectangular patterns that can be arranged in a row to form large patterns. In keeping with the site-specific work of the artist duo, the pattern originates from the exhibition site itself: the dark slate floor on the ground floor of the Trudelhaus not only served as a model for the game of laying cards, but also for a room installation at the same location.
Of course, this game does not follow any rules laid down in advance. It is also not about finding a given picture. The image to be discovered here is always different, depending on the player. The picture will never be finished either: With the discarding of the last card, the rebuilding of the pattern can begin. Without end.
