Publisher Note
The artist Balthasar Burkhard (1944–2010) uses photography to create images of remote sensuality. Apparently insignificant motifs such as arm, leg, hawk wing, mountain, moss or snail form the basis for a new composition of reality based on the play of gray values, patterns and contrasts. A 50-page sequence of images designed by the artist since 1989 with a text by Matthias Haldemann.
