Publisher Note

Cosmic Solitude is an exploration of isolation and solitude at what was likely the Soviet Union’s largest cosmic ray research station situated in Armeni. Located 3300 meters above the sea level, on the slopes of Aragats, this station boasts an impressive history of scientific research and achievements.
Established in 1943 under Soviet rule, it was a leading institution for Astro-Particle Physics. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 resulted in an abrupt cessation of incoming funds carried out by approx. 100 scientists, engineers, etc. The Armenian government has since neglected scientific research.
