As in the „thin cities“ Zenobia, Ottavia and Armilla in Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities “the cityscapes of Johannes Buchholz (*1961) seem to detach themselves from an above and below, right and left, near and far. The artist begins each series of drawings on site. He installs himself on balconies and roofs, places where he can get an overview. Und das obwohl der Künstler zu Beginn einer Serie vor Ort zeichnet.
