Publisher Note
Emilio Morenatti's photography aims to "transmit a message as clear as possible to as many people as possible", as he himself has said on occasion. As a photojournalist, he has used his position to show us scenarios beyond the news, to insist on those stories that the short expiry date of information has condemned to oblivion, or simply to tell us through an image the daily life of a society .
His commitment to the profession is continuous and unwavering, as evidenced by his recent work on cholera in Haiti or the revolution in Egypt.
Light, color, expression, perspective, invisibility, naturalness... are elements that stand out in his photography and that constitute almost essential conditions to pass the self-imposed filter of the most rigorous selection. It is not about aesthetics for aesthetics' sake, but rather a desire to reach the reader, to make things easy for them when viewing the photo, to focus their attention where it is convenient and then enjoy the rest.
