Catalogue of the exhibition at the LAC (Lugano Arte Cultura) from October 22, 2011 to February 26, 2012 in the spaces of Villa Ciani in Lugano the exhibition entitled HAITI.

Through a hundred images, this exhibition staged a unique process of reinterpreting the urban and rural context, and socio-cultural conditions in Haiti, to go beyond the limits of simple reporting thanks to an aesthetic approach combining past, present and future.

The exhibition - divided into five sections: Faces, Port-au-Prince, Earthquake, Tents, Landscapes - highlighted his existential reflections, such as "the photographer is a storyteller who lives the present, and tells it by accepting the powerful filters of the imagination "From imposing prints representing portraits of Haitian men, women and children, Stephenson tells a reality that only the artistic work of the photographer can reveal.

A series of photographs taken in the days immediately following the 2010 earthquake reveal Roberto Stephenson's great attention to the interplay between elements of color and unusual perspectives, gained through his experience as a photographer of architecture, thus conveying the sense of upheaval and the fragility of things. It is this theme that returns, full of poetry and drama in the section devoted to tents, ephemeral shelters but worthy of the people of Haiti after the natural disaster.
