The exhibition series fake or feint took place from January until July 2009 in project spaces at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz as well as in the Kino Arsenal. Thematically it focused on the idea of a politics of the surface, which was explored following concepts such as marking, masquerade, staging, display, disturbance, and deviance. Subsequently a publication was compiled, that transfers the formats of documentation and contextualisation developed and tested during the project into book form. The documentation of the six exhibition and film scenarios is juxtaposed with a selection of text excerpts, that are to create a narrative along the concepts relevant to the project. Die Ausstellungsreihe „fake or feint" fand von Januar bis Juli 2009 in Projekträumen am Berliner Alexanderplatz sowie im Kino Arsenal statt. Thematisch ging es um die Idee einer Politik der Oberfläche, die nach Begriffen wie Markierung, Maskerade, Inszenierung, Display, Störung und Devianz untersucht wurde. Anschließend wurde eine Publikation erstellt, die die während des Projekts entwickelten und getesteten Formate der Dokumentation und Kontextualisierung in Buchform überführt. Der Dokumentation der sechs Ausstellungs- und Filmszenarien wird eine Auswahl von Textausschnitten gegenübergestellt, die eine Erzählung entlang der für das Projekt relevanten Konzepte schaffen sollen.
