LIBYA is a story in pictures, of two Greek doctors who lived and worked in Brak, Libya from 1962 to 1967. The artist Stella Chronopoulou, after the release of her first album Σtella (which includes the song Libya) discovers in her parents’ archive these pictures and composes yet another work dedicated to them.

It is a selection of 64 colour slides (among more than 100 of the archive), most of them in good condition, that position the narrator in the desert around the city of Brak where the hospital of Petros and Despoina Chronopulos was based.

From there, they would reach remote areas of the Libyan Sahara, oasis and small villages of nomads with the support of locals and the “ambulanca” to offer their help.

All pictures were shot by them and the book also includes photos from administrational papers and black and white shots from friends and colleagues.

Finally, the photographic narration gets complimented by the lyrics of the song Libya.
