Publisher Note
This publication brings together a series of images portraying sisters Marie and Lucie Cornil, wearing garments from their grandmother's archive, Geneviève G.
In march 1981, Geneviève Guigou opened her store, Geneviève G, in Aix-en-Provence, France. She ran the store alongside her daughter, Christine, until its closure in 1999. Geneviève offered her customers a personal selection of beautiful garments from the collections of Alaïa, Ann Demeulemeester, Claude Montana, Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, Liviana Conti and Marithé + François Girbaud, among many others.
The remaining inventory has been preciously stored in the attic of the family house. Rediscovered by Geneviève's granddaughters, some of the garments are now part of their everyday wardrobes. These photographs portray Marie and Lucie at the family home wearing garments from their grandmother's archive.
