Publisher Note
In his artist’s booklet Martin Maeder juxtaposes male and female motifs. Reading – or rather, looking at – the booklet, a subjective story emerges, which is constituted by the associations with the greatly enlarged and cropped motifs. Photographs of factory rooms stand for the male part, photographs of bodies for the female part: a story that is increasingly interwoven into a more complex picture as one flips through the pages.
