Notes
This book was created at the invitation of Eunyyoung, a member of ABC (Artists' Books Cooperative), to take part in the exhibition Pushing the Envelope (an exhibition of Mail Art and Correspondances Art) organised by Lucy Helton at the National Museum of Computing in Bletchley, England.
Publisher Note
Pushing the Envelope is a Mail Art and Correspondances Art exhibition. The idea was to create a book weighing no more than 99g based on an idea around 99g referring to the constraints of the postal system and inspired by the creative ways in which artists and Artdealers have historically navigated customs regulations. So I chose to approach mathematics in a humorous and absurd way. The book is entitled + - =, three mathematical signs representing a winking face. It features a total of 17 photos of book covers whose titles refer to a weight. Adding or subtracting the titles gives us the weight of...99g. The book's weight has been calculated so as not to exceed 99g with its envelope.
