'So': hands mark the dimensions of an object; on the front cover the height, on the back its width. It remains unclear at first what is being measured and determined.
Peter Dobroschke's first monograph brings together the key approaches to his work: the setting under the visible presence of the actor, as well as the interest in reproduction and reflection. He is less concerned with optical effects than with seeing itself, with the jump between three and two-dimensional representation. Classic sculptural questions are linked - often directly in the studio - with recurring situations and actions from everyday life fixated on the screen. Movement and image jumps from the video works are communicated to the viewer in their own dynamics as they leaf through the catalog. The sheet of paper, which is always present in the printed medium, plays a major role here; be it as an image carrier or as a motif.
The catalog is accompanied by an essay by Albert Coers. It is published on the occasion of the Georg Meistermann scholarship.
