Publisher Note

PROVENCE REPORT aka PRVNC RPRT is an art and culture magazine that showcases contemporary fashion, criticism, art, music, literature, and photography. The publication is based on research in the original sense of the word: where possible, experts from the particular fields in question are selected to take part in interviews or present written reports. The PROVENCE REPORT autumn/winter 2018/19 focuses on “art in the service of …”. The editors study situations in which artists put their practice and skills to work serving something or someone else: in the periodical Silvia Simoncelli raises the following questions: How should we determine the price of an artwork? What is an artist’s work worth? PROVENCE REPORT comes out twice a year. The magazine was founded in 2018 by artist Tobias Kaspar and art historian Hannes Loichinger: it is a continuation of the PROVENCE cycle, which ran for eight years, from 2009 to 2017.
