The Domitian is a long road that runs through several municipalities and hamlets of the provinces of Naples and Caserta, an uninterrupted sequence of illegal constructions, pollution, overbuildings and organized criminality, of which the municipality of Castel Volturno and the neighboring fraction of Pinetamare are now a sad emblem since decades. Salvatore Santoro, born in Caserta, retraces this long road, once the seaside route of the local residents, in attempt to record the weight of the transformation of those places and to match the memories so different from the present on view. “Saluti da PINETAMARE” (‘Greetings from Pinetamare) is presented as a cycle of images that recalls the form of photo-reportage, staging a reality suspended between actuality and personal memory.
