Publisher Note
Skate Generation is the new bet that Fontana Edizioni made with the Ticino photographer Igor Ponti. A simple and direct book for the strange format, the minimalist graphics, but above all for its content that tells and documents an alternative generation. The first editorial work by photographer Igor Ponti describes a lifestyle lived in first person. The portraits are flanked by texts collected by the author directly among the protagonists of this book, describe years of emotional ties, shared experiences, funny anecdotes, memories that constitute a historical heritage of an unknown subculture.
In an almost voyeuristic way, for the first time in Ticino’s publishing, we explore an almost unknown world to which belong young people of our house, page after page we discover what characterizes and unites these individuals that binds them even after years.
Preface by Marco D'Anna, 120 pages of black and white photographs with the stories of the protagonists who describe the world of skaters.
