Anna McCarthy's artist book is a collection of her popular pencil drawings of amorphous figures. Sentient figures trickle and ooze their way through different states of equilibrium; some self-contained fountains, clouds, or gusts of wind, whilst others have formed groups and seem to be planning something, communicating in fields of pylons and mountain landscapes. They are endearing with their big eyes and friendly doughy, cloud-like appearance, carrying sandwich lunchboxes, melting over and spilling into structures, morphing, and possibly disrupting the geometry of lines in pylons. Charming harbingers of chaos.

The silver impregnation on the cover of this book depicts a bronze sculpture that McCarthy produced during her residency at the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia in Milan, 2024, and which equally trickles & oozes, seemingly giving birth to the figures within this publication.

This artist book was produced on the occasion of Anna McCarthy's performance "The Hills Have Crazy Eyes – Woman in a Landscape" on the art nouveau stage of Münchner Kammerspiele Theatre and is the first part of the bundle to be produced throughout 2024.

Das Künstlerinnenbuch von Anna McCarthy ist eine Sammlung ihrer Bleistiftzeichnungen amorpher Figuren. Sensible Wesen tröpfeln und sickern durch verschiedene Zustände des Wohlbefindens; einige sind eigenständige Fontänen, Wolken oder Windböen, während andere sich zu Gruppen zusammengeschlossen haben – zwischen Strommasten und Berglandschaften – und etwas zu planen scheinen. Sie sind liebenswert mit ihren großen Augen und ihrem freundlichen, teigigen, wolkenähnlichen Aussehen, tragen Lunchboxen bei sich und stören möglicherweise die Geometrie der Geradlinigkeit der Strommasten. Sie sind charmante Vorboten des Chaos.

Die silberne Prägung auf dem Umschlag dieses Buches stellt eine Bronzeskulptur dar, die McCarthy während ihres Aufenthalts in der Fonderia Artistica Battaglia in Mailand 2024 herstellte.
