Each year since 1905 the Villa Romana Prize, along with a ten-month residency opportunity, has been awarded to artists at the beginning of their careers. The fellows work together on exhibition projects and events as well as a publication that is produced at the end of their stay in Florence.

Using her videos, interventions and performances, Anike Joyce Sadiq creates zones of social contact and discusses practices of alienation and exclusion.

Alljährlich, seit 1905, wird der Villa Romana Preis mit einem zehnmonatigen Arbeitsaufenthalt an Künstlern am Beginn ihrer Karriere verliehen. Die Stipendiaten arbeiten an Ausstellungsprojekten und Veranstaltungen zusammen, und eine Publikation wird jedes Jahr am Ende ihres Florentiner Aufenthalts gemeinsam konzipiert.

Die Bildräume der Malerin Alisa Margolis, die sich aus barocken Vanitasmotiven, popkulturellen Events und NASA-Aufnahmen des "deep space" konstituieren, zeichnen einen emphatischer Ereignisraum zwischen Kohärenz und Kollaps.
Mit ihren Videos, Interventionen und Performances schafft Anike Joyce Sadiq Zonen sozialen Kontakts, bzw. thematisiert Praktiken der Befremdung und Ausgrenzung.
