The publication “Visited by a Tiger” is a further development of the video work of the same name from 2019 and is based on conversations with the psychologist Dr. Lula Morton Drewes.

The starting point is the fist as a model for the human brain and as a symbol for struggle, resistance and solidarity. The first part of the text is a neurobiological explanation that points to the situational dominance of conscious or affective thinking and resulting actions in threatening situations. It is followed in the second part by a psychological reference to traumas caused by exclusion and experiences of racism.

The publication will also be accompanied by a limited and signed special edition, which includes an engraved record in a slipcase. Sound in collaboration with producer and sound artist Lamin Fofana.

Die Publikation „Visited by a Tiger“ ist eine Weiterentwicklung der gleichnamigen Videoarbeit von 2019 und basiert auf Gesprächen mit der Psychologin Dr. Lula Morton Drewes.

Ausgangspunkt ist die Faust als Modell für das menschliche Gehirn und als Symbol für Kampf, Widerstand und Solidarität. Der erste Teil des Textes ist eine neurobiologische Erläuterung, die auf die situationsabhängige Dominanz von bewusstem bzw. affektivem Denken und daraus resultierenden Handlungen in Bedrohungslagen hinweist. Ihr folgt im zweiten Teil ein psychologischer Bezug zu Traumata durch Ausgrenzung und Rassismuserfahrung.

Zur Publikation erscheint eine limitierte und signierte Vorzugsausgabe, die neben der Publikation auch eine gravierte Schallplatte im Schuber enthält. Sound in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten und Soundkünstler Lamin Fofana.
