Work Description

“Intangible Collection of Memories” is a compilation that explores the interweaving of plant scents and memories. It is a not-for-profit partici- patory project initiated by Yipei Lee, founder and curator of SUAVEART, and was held at the West Bund Art Museum in Shanghai in 2021. Through scent collection, writing and reading, and sachet making, participants engage in sensory interactions. Scent, as a special medium, transcends time and space, and territorial boundaries, becoming an opportunity to reconnect us with nature and with each other. This collection is not just a sensory exploration; it inadvertently triggers therapeutic writing about the sharing of memories and the growing environment. Scent guides us into these intangible memories, reading herbal aromas, connecting our past, present, and future with those of the participants.
