Publisher Note

The polar bear has become a national symbol of the Danish affiliation to the north, it is a symbols of Danish quality and associated with the idea of Danish design, like the most sold porcelain sculptural from Royal Copenhagen or the logo of Nordisk Film. But looking in to the national archives the polar bear is dead and was killed by the man who conquered this world of ice.
Today, Greenland is part of the Danish Kingdom, after it ceased its colonial status in 1953, but in many ways it is still not detached from Danish influence. It also seems that the perspective on Greenland and its indigenous people has still not developed into an equal relationship, and the colonial structure is still present.
