A look into the city centres shows: people like to go shopping. Shopping is one of their favourite leisure activities - and where can this activity be indulged in more effectively than in a department store? With a good dose of humour, the 11th RischArt_Project replaces the shopping spree with the "Kunstrausch"! A novelty in the now 28-year history of the RischArt_Projects is the choice of exhibition location: previously it was the public space in the open air where the projects were located, this time for conceptual reasons the works of art will be presented indoors, because the exhibition space is an essential part of the artistic staging in "Kunstrausch". The west wing of the Bavarian National Museum, the so-called "Vaulted Halls", is a place that, with its columns and vaulted ceilings, is reminiscent of a department store from the 1920s and thus represents the ideal setting for a stimulating art stroll. "Kunstrausch" is based on the idea of a department store with its diverse range of products and its different departments. This idea runs like a thread through the exhibition, but at the same time it is taken to the extreme. Because unlike a real department store, which has an oversupply of products for the consumer in every department, "Kunstrausch" creates an art cosmos in which the idea of the department store is reinterpreted in an unexpected, humorous and thought-provoking way.
