Publisher Note
The catalog faithfully illustrates the exhibition "L’Adieu des glaciers. Il Monte Bianco. Ricerca fotografica e scientifica," a photographic narrative between past and present to discover the life and transformations of the glacial area of the Mont Blanc massif.
The exhibition is part of a broader four-year project produced by the Forte di Bard, involving in-depth study and photographic and scientific analysis around Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn, Gran Paradiso, and Mont Blanc, the famous 'four 4,000s' of Valle d'Aosta.
The texts were curated by Enrico Peyrot, historian and photographer, for the photographic part, and by Michele Freppaz, professor at the Department of Agricultural, Forestry, and Food Sciences of the University of Turin, for the scientific part.
A section of the catalog consists of scientific sheets, curated by scholars from important research institutions, which accurately document the transformations that climate change brings to glaciers.
