Publisher Note
The present edition appears in the series “Performance Saga, Interviews 01–08”, which collects recordings of conversations with female pioneers of performance art and provides insight into their self-image and thinking.
The Spanish Esther Ferrer participated for the first time in a performance in 1967, a concert by the artist group ZAJ. Since then she has developed a very specific kind of minimalism in which conceptual rigor and the absurd go hand in hand.
In a conversation among female artists, Esther Ferrer talks about her current work and the beginnings of her creative process. A text by Annamira Jochim complements and deepens these reflections.
