For two and a half years I picked addresses randomly from google maps. I sent to those addresses a handwritten letter like the one on the right here and a photograph I had taken. All in all I sent out 500 letters, all over the United Kingdom and some to the US. And I asked them for a response. ‘Return to Sender’ consists from the combination of those letters, photographs and responses.

Return to Sender, the book, was designed by design bureau Kummer & Herrman. It’s a 480 page, A5 size, hardcover book that can be previewed and ordered HERE A video of it can be seen HERE. Return to Sender was shortlisted for the Aperture Photobook Awards.
