Special Passport (2009) is a printed copy of stitching on fabric work, produced for the ‘road’ project realized in 2009. It is a visual record of the experiences at the border crossings during the road trip to Turkey’s neighboring countries.“Green Passport” gives a Turkish citizen the right to pass without a visa to most of the European countries and the right of habitation of 3 months duration. The passport, being a document of identity verification, has lost its function in some way during the ‘Reciprocal’ workshop trip to neighboring countries of Turkey. Throughout the road, ‘Passport’ has revealed the language of political processes between countries of origin and destination. It has transformed from an instrumental object allowing the right of passage into a problem indicating the political processes between countries; into an object capable of ‘border breach’ for a little while. The work ‘Green Passport’ that I embroidered on fabric after the trip carries the stamps of the crossed borders and the images indicating the relations between countries.

2009 yılında bir grup sanatçı ile gerçekleştirilen, Apartman Projesi’nin “İade-I Ziyaret” adlı yol projesinde üretilmiş bir iştir. Türkiye`nin komşu ülkelerine kara yolu ile ulaşılan seyahat süresince sınır geçişlerinde yaşanan deneyimlerin görsel kaydıdır.
“Yeşil pasaport” bir Türkiyeli`ye, Avrupa`daki ülkelerin çoğuna vizesiz geçiş hakkı ve 3 aylık kalma süresi tanır. Kimliği teyit eden bir belge olan pasaport, komşu ülkelere gerçekleştirilen bu seyahatte bir anlamda işlevini yitirdi. Yol süresince “Pasaport” geldiğimiz ülke ve vardığımız ülke arasındaki politik süreçlerin dilini açığa çıkartı. Ülkeler arası geçiş hakkına vesile olan aracı bir nesneden, ülkeler arası politik süreçleri işaretleyen bir soruna; kısa süreligine “sınır ihlali”ne sebebiyet verecek bir nesneye dönüştü. Seyahat sonrasında, kumaş üzerine dikerek elde işlediğim “Hususi (Yeşil) pasaport” geçilen sınırlardaki damgaları ve ülkeler arası ilişkileri temsil eden formlardan oluşur. Dikiş işin kopyası, basılı kitapçık olarak yeniden üretilmiştir.
