Digital Dementia refers to the forgetfulness of the „Internet
Generation“. Young people are complaining more frequently
about it.
We don‘t need to know anything, we have to remember
anything. We can always provide any information at any
time within seconds and retrieve research. wikipedia.org or
google.com will never let us down.
The project „What We Know“ provokes a confrontation with
this issue. The phenomenon of digital dementia challenged the
three artists – to spend one day to write down and illustrate
WHAT WE KNOW about the history of the world. Without using
wikipedia, google, history books or any other source of information,
research or correction.
The result are more than 300 spontaneous pages in a Japanese
binding with a mixture of dangerous half-knowledge, detailed
facts, false information and associative cross-references.

Unter Digitaler Demenz versteht man die Vergesslichkeit der "Generation Internet". Wir müssen uns nichts mehr merken oder behalten, wir können jede Information jederzeit innerhalb von Sekunden abrufen und recherchieren. wikipedia.org oder google.com lassen uns nicht im Stich.
Das Projekt "What We Know" provoziert eine Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema. Die drei Gestalter nahmen sich einen Tag Zeit, die Geschichte der Welt spontan und illustrativ, aber möglichst quantitativ zu erzählen. Und zwar ohne Internet, ohne jede Informationsquelle, Recherche oder Korrektur. Herausgekommen sind über 400 spontane Seiten in einer japanischen Bindung mit einer Mischung aus gefährlichem Halbwissen, detaillierten Fakten, Falschinformationen und assoziativen Querverweisen.
